Equal Access Interpreting was created by Alan Logan. Alan’s interest in the Deaf community began at an early age, growing up in a small town in western Oklahoma and spending time with his Deaf Aunt and Uncle. After High School, he attended the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha where he received his under graduate degree in Deaf Education.
Alan’s varied work experience in the private and public sector gives him a broad knowledge of many aspects of Deaf education, culture and interpreting. He is a certified interpreter and licensed deaf education teacher who has worked in Special Education Services at the local school district in Texas and Oklahoma, and the state level at the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services and the Oklahoma School for the Deaf.
Before starting Equal Access interpreting, he worked as Director of Interpreting for Sorenson Communications – providing Video Relay Services. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and his hobbies include SCUBA diving and maintaining salt water reef tanks.
